What a week!

September 26, 2006

My week has been really busy! Sadly no stitching, but lots done anyway! To start with on Tuesday I looked after Josh AND his little brother Jacob, from 7am until 5.30pm, Jacob wanted his mama and spent most of the day crying or being really clingy, I also looked after 3 of my cousins children for the afternoon, I am sure it looked like a daycare centre LOL

Wednesday I got my grocery shopping done since I didn’t have time on Tuesday, then got some (boring) housework done. Then workin the evening

Thursday I had Josh again, Gabrielle had kindy, I started printing out wedding invitations, I still have a few to do, but they should all be done real soon. Mum got her flat :) She is so excited.

Friday, the packing and the start of the move for mum, helped as much as I could before work, also needed to pack Wade’s bags for his trip to see his Dad on Saturday, went to work. Came home finished organizing Wade for his flight tomorrow.

Saturday, work and then home to help mum some more, family night too.

Sunday, didn’t go to church, finished helping pack and sort out Mums things, then shared family lunch with Aunties uncles, cousins and kids, Mike and Chris packed mums stuff onto a trailer and 3 loads later she is moved in! Went to night church, Elle lost the plot near the end and packed a major tanty so home we went (fast LOL)

Monday, Mike and I spent our first whole day alone without any children, Mum looked after Elle for us, and Tarissa and Christian went to the CCC camp (with the help of my lovely mum who took them out there)

Mike and I had a lovely day! We drove down to Oamaru which I absolutly LOVE, It is a beautiful historic town and has a NEEDLECRAFT shop!! I was in heaven!! It wasn’t that big, but it had more than I have ever seen before! The sales assistant came up to me at one point and said “Are you alright? You look a bit bewildered” LOL I will be going back!! Also not to far away from that shop was a fabric shop with heaps of patchwork fabric…… be going there again too!! LOL We then travelled down to Moeraki to see the Moeraki Boulders, it is beautiful there and I would love to retire there! :)

Well thats it :)

Rose of Sharon Picture

September 15, 2006

Here is my progress on Rose of Sharon, this is 60 hours, amazing what you get done when you hurt your foot and can’t do much and your beloved is away eh?!

I am sick of my rotation, now how bad is that? I really, really, want to get this and Celtic Noel done and out of the way, but then I still have Mermaids of the Deep, Butterfly – Day and then to start Celtic Summer for my niece, which needs to be done by July….. maybe I shoud go back to a 1 at a time rotation? I have seen other peoples work and they seem to get a LOT done working on 1…… but then which would I do? Could I cope with the boredom? Maybe have 2 and just swap between them when I am sick of 1? I dunno, maybe this is just a symptom of my upset over Joy? I think I need a new start? LOL at myself.

Also here is a picture of my countrystitch rainbow club. I haven’t posted one of these for ages, I

was just getting ornament cuts for awhile, but have now gone back to fat quarters, this is Wildrose, 32 Count Belfast, my favourite.
Gabrielle is sick, she has tonsillitis, poor wee thing, she always seems to have something, but at least she is happy to lie on the couch and watch movies.
Mike will be home tomorrow afternoon, I can’t wait! I need a hug… It is Wade’s sleep over tomorrow night, his birthday is on Monday, but as he wanted a sleep over it had to be Saturday (I work friday night)
Well no more news (thats gotta be good right?!)
*hugs*

Stab and Stash

September 14, 2006

If you haven’t heard of Stab and Stash then check them out they have beautiful hand dyed fabbie, also they have a forum with a monthly competition to win some fabric go here and sign up!! I have entered a name in the competition so if you want to vote for me please do, my suggestion was Angel Dreams I would appreciate the votes :)

On to my sad news……

Doesn’t life just SUX sometimes?

A very dear friend of mine and Mikes was rushed to hospital yesterday and then diagnosed with ovarian cancer, they were going to operate last night but after checking the scans decided against it and have told her that she is terminal and there is nothing that they can do for her…..

I am sooooo sad! Joy is such a lovely sweet lady, I don’t know what we are going to do without her! She has been like another mother to Mike and they prayed for him for years that God would send a wife for him, we so want her to be at our wedding.

If you believe would you please add your prayers to ours for her?!

Thank you ever so much!!

I cheated…

September 11, 2006

I joined up to the needleroll stitch a long with Katrina and others….. but alas, I didn’t end up with a pattern, so I went searching through my stash and found this, half stitched,

so I finished it up and now I just have to make it up :)

Not ideal but better than missing out on stitching along :)
Peace Tree – M Designs
2004 JCS Ornie mag
Stitched on Kiwi Pearl from Countrystitch with DMC Variegated thread, Mill Hill beads and a cheap blue start from the sewing shop :)
Hopefully I will get this made up soon!
Thanks also Katrina for the fantastic thread! I got to use it and I L O V E it!!
In other news, Mike is away in Christchurch for work again this week :( But I will get a fair bit of stitching done! I have also nearly finished 10 hours on The Rose of Sharon (thats what happens when you have a sore foot and sit around all day LOL) But since I still have a few days to go I will put in some extra time :)
I have a bootiee half done, and some on my sock, so once the bootiees are done I will work on Tarissa’s jacket :)
Still haven’t received my BOTM but if it doesn’t arrive soon I will make one of Katrina’s bags instead, I think I will steal her idea and make some as xmas pressies for the rellies :) Going to have gained a few by xmas time :)
Yesterday we went to my niece to be’s 5th birthday party, Shania and Gabrielle love each other a lot, the kids had a wonderful time and it was so lovely and relaxing! :)
Well thats it

Pictures

September 8, 2006
I’ve hurt my foot so I have today and tomorrow off work, stressing out now cause its less money for the week than I expected!! I am also stressing out cause according to my ticker its like 92 days or something until the wedding and I just can’t seem to loose weight!! I have this really horrible picture of myself, walking down the aisle in a big white dress looking fat and old!! I don’t know why, but I feel really too old to be doing the big white wedding thing… I dunno if it is the wrinkles, the odd grey hair, being overweight, or maybe its the 4 kids?…. Totally paranoid I know but anyway….. onto more stitchy things
I have signed up for the needleroll stitchalong with Katrina and others, but now I am not sure if I am going to be able to paticipate, a friend was lending me a pattern and now she can’t find it…. darn, still have time though :)
I am putting below my latest progress pics, batteries in my camera need replacing and it is really annoying me…. I go to use it and its FLAT! AGAIN!! LOL

Anyway, here is my progress on Butterfly – Day I am glad to be finally passed that halfway point which I seemed to have stalled at :)

Here is also my progress on Watergarden….. not much I know but better than the 20 or so stitches I had done :)

Well I guess that is about it, will be going back to Rose of Sharon now…. deadline is getting closer!!!
Hope everyone is well!!
*hugs to Maggie*
